Quick guide to Fridge Mountain
Fridge Mountain allows you to give away stuff you no longer want
or need to people in your local area and beyond.
Of course, that means that there's plenty of useful stuff
on the site for you to find, and the site also lets you
list requests for stuff in just the same way!
How does the site work?
It's very simple. People list items on here that they no longer want,
and those listings become searchable by visitors to the site. We list
items according to how close they are to you, so you'll always find local
items first. When you see something you like (or a request you can fill),
you just need to contact the person making the offer and arrange for
the item to be delivered.
What types of item can I list on here?
Anything that you want, within the limits of our terms and conditions.
That means anything from books or CDs to old fridges or piles of bricks, but nothing
illegal. Use your common sense!
Do I have to pay for items or give before I can take?
All items on Fridge Mountain should be offered free of charge. If
you come across someone who's insisting on payment for an item, please
let us know. Some form of payment is acceptable,
to cover delivery costs of an item, for example, but that's up to you
to agree with the person you are dealing with. Likewise, people
should not insist on swaps for an item.
You are not obliged to list an item before you take one (or ever, for
matter), although of course the more items you can list on the site
the better. We're much more interested in keeping useful goods out
of landfills than anything else.
Fridge Mountain itself is also completely free to use.
What do I do once I've given an item or had a request fulfilled?
All you need to do is remove the listing from the site, which is quick and easy
to do. If you want, you can also send us feedback or a success story
for us to feature on the site.
